Earning College Credits

The Chatham Charter academic program builds to the upperclassmen years when juniors and seniors take dual enrollment, transferable college credits through the tuition-free North Carolina Career and College Promise (CCP). The rigorous program, paired with how Chatham Charter carefully maximizes opportunities for its students to be able to take courses, allows the majority of students to complete a CCP Pathway. By the time they graduate, Chatham Charter students earn an average of 32 transferable college credits through the Career & College Promise. Courses are taken in partnership with Central Carolina Community College (CCCC).

Approximately 70% of current upperclassmen are focusing on a College Transfer Pathway that contains many general education courses they will need to complete a college degree. However, a number of students explore areas related to the skilled workforce. Chatham Charter upperclassmen are taking courses in the following Career and Technical Education Pathways during the current school year:

  • Automotive Systems Foundations
  • Building Construction Technology
  • Business Administration
  • Cosmetology
  • Criminal Justice Technology
  • Culinary Arts
  • Early Childhood Education
