Senior Beta Earns National Achievement

Eleven members of the Chatham Charter Senior Beta chapter participated in the National Beta Convention held June 16-20 in Nashville, Tennessee. The 2026 Convention, themed “Wired for Success,” welcomed thousands of attendees from across the nation for a week of competition, celebration, and student achievement.

While at the convention the Chatham Charter students participated in a variety of competitive events. The Chatham Charter Meeting of the Minds team placed third in the nation. Ashleigh Payne, Mady Bozzo, Abby Semrad, and Jalen McSwain made up the team. The event focused on teammates working collaboratively to engage in higher level cognitive abilities such as abstract reasoning and problem solving.

“I’m very proud of them. It was an amazing experience for all of us.,” said chapter advisor Amber Crossman.

The National Beta Convention provides opportunities for students in grades 4-12 to showcase their talents through individual and team competitions, leadership experiences, service initiatives, networking opportunities, and educational programming. The annual event brings together top-performing students who have advanced through state conventions and earned the opportunity to compete on the national stage.
