Red Ribbon Week Activities
Chatham Charter will celebrate National Red Ribbon Week from October 21-25. The theme of Really Excellent Decisions will focus not only on the traditional anti-drug message, but overall healthy and smart decision making (peer pressure, bullying, vaping, safe driving, nutrition, exercise, prescription safety, etc.). Students will participate in Red Ribbon Week activities in elective classes, when they visit the library, and during classroom guidance lessons.
Awareness activities will include red ribbons being displayed on campus, a daily red ribbon scavenger hunt, a photo station, and pledge cards that students may opt to sign. The school counseling staff is providing red ribbon themed items for elementary and middle schoolers such as stickers, silicone bracelets, bookmarks, and various small make-your-own projects. The school resource officer will join students for lunch on Tuesday, and everyone is encouraged to wear red on Wednesday.
Red Ribbon Week, sponsored by National Family Partnership (NFP), is the nation’s largest and longest running drug use prevention campaign.
