Protecting Our Students
Safety and Well-Being
State Requirement
As part a commitment to student safety and well-being, and, in accordance with G.S. 115C-105.57(2a) and Session Law 2023-128/HB142, all public schools are required to show videos to students in grades 6-12. The goal is to educate students about signs of potentially harmful behavior by adults; to help students know how to practice healthy behaviors and skills to stay safe; and to help student identify trusted adults they can turn to for help. The North Carolina Center for Safer Schools developed Protecting Our Students videos for middle and high school students.
