New School Year Info
The Chatham Charter administration and staff are planning for the first student day of the 2026-2027 school year on Thursday, August 6. Kindergarteners should follow the staggered start schedule over the first two days of school. They will receive details at Open House. Resources in this post will help families be well prepared.
• Mandatory Sports Kickoff Meeting: Tuesday, July 28, at 6:00 p.m.
• 11th Grade Family Night and 9th Grade Orientation: Thursday, July 30 (The 11th grade event will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the 9th grade orientation at 6:30 p.m.)
• Open House: Tuesday, August 4 (K-5: 4:00-5:15 p.m.; grades 6-12: 5:45-7:00 p.m. Visit classrooms. There will not be a session in the gym as in previous years.) The PTSA will be selling t-shirts, hats, drawstring bags, and more at Open House at their table in the elementary building). New families or those needing assistance with Infinite Campus can come to the high school conference room during either Open House session for support. New families who have not completed Infinite Campus registration information yet are particularly encouraged to stop by.
• Middle School Parent Night: Tuesday, August 11, at 5:00 p.m. in the upperclassmen classroom (near the middle school hall)
• Senior Family Night: Tuesday, August 18, at 6:00 p.m.
Time Sensitive Items
High school fall sports tryouts can begin on Wednesday, July 29. Middle school fall sports tryouts will begin on Tuesday, August 11. Forms must be submitted before a student can tryout. Knights Athletics uses digital participation forms. DragonFly will need to be used for paperwork instead of turning in hard copies.
Students in grades 6-9 order uniforms for physical education classes. The deadline to order for the first semester is Tuesday, August 12.
The state requires kindergarten, seventh, and twelfth graders to have certain immunizations completed by 30 days after the first student day of a school year. Contact School Nurse Dawn Murphy (dmurphy@chathamcharter.org) if needed.

School Lunch
Lunch orders are now open for the fall semester. Orders can be placed at mymealorder.com. New students will not be able to create a MyMealOrder account until a student id number is assigned to them. School lunches are pre-order only and must be ordered 10 days in advance. The last day to order lunch for the first day of school is Monday, July 27.
Regarding free or reduced lunch, each student’s lunch status from last school year will remain the same for the first 30 days of school or until a new lunch application is submitted. Free and reduced lunch applications will be available at Open House and will also be sent home during the first week of school. Contact Brittany Smith at bsmith@chathamcharter.org with any questions.
