MS Boys Become Backstreet Boys

Middle school students put an interesting twist on geography in the classroom last week. Mr. Byrd’s classes were tasked with identifying, labeling and coloring all the countries, oceans and major seas in the world, as well as creating their own landform maps and videos highlighting their geographical knowledge. Four students in his 7th grade class produced a music video with a self-written script and original lyrics set to the tune of Backstreet Boys I want It That Way.

Watch and enjoy as they showcase their acting and singing talent, as well as their geography smarts.

Brayden, Manny, Camden and Louis perform Backstreet Geography, set to the tune of Back street Boys “I Want it That Way,” as part of a 7th grade Social Studies project.
Backstreet Geography
(In the theme of Backstreet Boys I Want It That Way)
By Cam, Louis, Brayden, and Manny

This is Backstreet Geography.
Here is what we’re going to say.
We expect an A.
This is Backstreet Geography

There is Asia and Africa.
North and South America.
Antarctica and Australia.
And don’t forget Europe!

Tell me why?
Why are there 7 continents?
Tell me why?
Why are there 5 oceans?
Tell me why?
How did this even happen?
It's because of Pangea.

There is the Arctic Ocean.
Atlantic and Pacific Ocean.
Then there is the Indian and one more.
Its the Southern Ocean.

Tell me why?
Why are there 7 continents?
Tell me why?
Why are there 5 oceans?
Tell me why?
How did this even happen?
It's because of Pangea.

Now we are almost at the end of the song.
I know that you can’t wait! (yeah)
No matter the distance or how far you go, I want you to know this.

There are 7 seven continents.
And 5 oceans.
And yes there are so many!
This is the end of Backstreet Geography.
