8th Grade Mystery Activity

Eighth graders recently tackled aspects of a mystery in their Language Arts class.
“In this immersive experience, each student took on the role of a unique character, complete with their own background, personality, and motive. As investigators in this enigmatic tale, students delved into the art of characterization, carefully crafting their personas based on provided information. While interacting with one another, they were tasked with keenly observing and interpreting the subtle cues, gestures, and dialogue of peers. Through role-playing, questioning, and active listening, students uncovered the hidden motivations that drove their characters to ultimately solve the mystery. The lesson focus was on characterization, inferences, and communication,” explained teacher Savannah Childress.
