Be well prepared if you plan to tryout for Knights sports teams. All forms in the participation packet must be complete and submitted in order to tryout. Download the packet here. Knights Athletics is transitioning over the course of the upcoming school year to digital participation forms. The NC High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) has uploaded its required forms to DragonFly and is encouraging member schools to use this “one stop shop” for multiple athletic needs. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to go ahead and create a Dragonfly account and complete the NCHSAA forms online instead of the version in the Knights PDF packet. Knights Athletics offers sports physicals each summer on campus for student-athletes in middle and high school who opt to not have to make an appointment at a doctor’s office or urgent care. Campus physicals were offered on Tuesday, July 25, at 2:00pm in the gym, The cost is $10 in cash. (Please bring correct change.) Physicals are offered for anyone planning to play a sport during any season.

In addition to some new coaches, Knights Athletics has a new leadership structure. Longtime Athletic Director Clint Fields has moved into a Central Services Team role where he will work with both Chatham Charter and its replication school, Central Carolina Academy, in the areas of athletics and operations. Jason Messier is taking over Athletic Director duties at Chatham Charter. Rachel Smith, a Knights alum from the Class of 2019, is returning to Chatham Charter as the Assistant Athletic Director.
