Knight Spotlight: Office Staff

Ginger Milholen, the K-8 receptionist, began working at Chatham Charter three years ago, but has been involved with Chatham Charter as a parent since 2003. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from NCSU. Before raising her family, she worked as an event planner for pharmaceutical companies in the Research Triangle Park (RTP). She has three children who are proud alumni of Chatham Charter.

“My primary responsibilities include greeting parents, answering phone calls, and meeting the various needs of K-8 students. I also maintain Chatham Charter’s school calendar as well as the electronic school sign. Further, I coordinate the substitute teachers for staff absences.”

“The elementary building is filled with happiness and there is something fun to enjoy each day! The holidays are by far my favorite part of my job. From Apple Day to the Spring Sing, there is always something to look forward to. Watching the students enjoy the celebrations reminds me of the fun my own kids had when they were here.”

Cathy Fields, the school data manager, worked in the business world, an elementary school, and as a school district data system coordinator before coming to Chatham Charter in 2013 when the high school expansion opened. In addition to being the “go to” for PowerSchool, Mrs. Fields also handles several aspects of driver education and coordinates regalia orders for graduation.

She enjoys getting to know the students and being of service to them and their families in her role as the high school office point of contact.
