Join Us to Read!
Preschool through fifth grade children in the community and at Chatham Charter are invited to attend a Community Family Reading Night on Thursday, March 19, from 5:30-6:30 PM in the gym. The fun, family-friendly evening will focus on celebrating reading and learning together. As families enter they will pick up materials specific to their child’s grade level. Every twenty minutes attendees will have an option to visit a new station. Each child who attends will receive a free book and a Roll and Read game with foam die to take home and enjoy with their families.
The event is sponsored with the support of the Chatham County Public Libraries and a Bojangles Foundation Literacy Grant. Members of Chatham Charter’s chapters of Junior and Senior Beta Club will volunteer as book readers. High school Spanish teacher Maria Ferrari is organizing Spanish-language storytelling stations. Staff from area public libraries will bring books from their libraries to read at other stations.
