Family Fun Event
The Honors Marketing II class and DECA are hosting a holiday event called Holiday Knight on Friday, December 20, from 5:00-8:00 pm. Featuring food trucks, shopping with Chatham Charter family & friends, a petting zoo, a Giving Tree, cookie decorating, face painting, and more, this is a perfect way to kick off the holidays without the hustle, bustle and hassle of other less convenient locations.
Highlights include:
- Shopping Knight with Family & Friends – Carolina Waters, Divinely Delish Desserts, Fancy & Frosted, Knotty Pine, and Rebel Hen Boutique
- Food trucks – Antojitos La Dona and Donut NV
- Petting Zoo – courtesy of Chatham Charter family Turtle Pants Farm Rescue
- Giving Tree – sponsored by the Senior Beta Club. Bring canned, boxed or bagged food to donate to the Salvation Army.
All three of the Chatham Charter DECA school-based enterprises (SBEs) will also be present and in operation for the event:
- Castle Cafe: serving festive hot and cold coffee drinks with the addition of a hot cocoa bar and fixings.
- Castle Creations: on-demand printing of new, exclusive designs on high-quality hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts
- Castle Media: the newest SBE, taking photos with (or without) Santa that families can buy on-site for hi-resolution images delivered within minutes of purchase

This event was created entirely by the Honors Marketing II class as a semester-long assignment focusing on advanced marketing principles rooted in research as a foundation for strategic integrated marketing plans. DECA, as the marketing co-curricular organization, is also participating with its nearly 70 members to support the event. Admission is $5 and includes all activities except food trucks, shopping and SBE purchases. Any and all profits will go directly back to the DECA organization to support upcoming competitive event costs. Events like this defray costs for student competitors, who have to self-fund their expenses. State competition in February, for example, costs $250 per student. This year, thanks to fundraising through events like Knights Family Weekend and this one, each student is able to have $50 of their fees covered by Chatham Charter DECA.
