As the holiday break at Chatham Charter approached, students and staff found a multitude of ways to study and celebrate the spirit of the season. Decorations throughout the campus that included displays of class projects heightened the festive mood.
Eighth grade students in Mrs. Childress’s ELA classes completed a ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Madlib followed by enjoying milk and cookies. Then, they dissected the classic story by looking at figurative language, imagery and symbolism.
Middle and high school band members played several area parades, performed at the Snow Camp Festival of Lights, and held a concert on campus Friday evening, December 8th.
The high school got a boost of holiday cheer leading into first semester final exams through a “DECA the Halls” activity from DECA. The high school hall was decorated in seasonal splendor.
On December 13th, families of kindergarteners attended a special program featuring their students in the gym while fifth graders presented a holiday-themed production to some fellow elementary students.
