The Class of 2025 at Chatham Charter School is in the midst of its graduation-related activities. In preparing to finish their time in high school they are completing both high school and college transfer courses.

On Sunday evening, May 11, the administration and high school staff will hold a Senior Honor Night for seniors and their families. Students will be recognized for individual achievements including state diploma endorsements for outstanding academic accomplishments; scholarships; and participation in the NC Career & College Promise (CCP). Dr. Kristi Short, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at CCCC, will help in presenting CCP cords and pins as well as speak about the valued partnership between Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) and Chatham Charter. All seniors have taken courses through the community college program. The majority of the Class of 2025 completed a CCP Pathway as have other graduating classes at Chatham Charter, where the CCP is maximized. Such a high completion rate is nearly unheard of in high schools across the state. Students earn at least 32 transferable college credits during their junior and senior years by completing paths of study. Multiple students in Chatham Charter graduating classes have earned over 50 college credits before leaving high school.

On Saturday morning, May 17, Chatham Charter School will hold a Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2025. The senior class has 35 members and is the tenth class to graduate from the school since its high school expansion opened in 2013. The ticketed event will be held in the school gymnasium at 10:00am.

The school and senior families are sponsoring several activities to celebrate the graduating class. At the end of April, there was a senior spirit week that included a “donuts and diplomas” event. On Friday, May 2, students and staff cheered the seniors as they marched through each building wearing their graduation regalia. Parents will host “Senior Sunset” to celebrate the last day of school on Thursday, May 15, at 7:00 pm on the baseball field. They have games, music, food and fun activities planned to mark the end of their students’ senior year and to create lasting memories before graduation.
