Colorful Chemistry Lab

During a Chemistry lab, eleventh grade students learned about absorption and emission of photons by atoms and their effect on electrons. They tested different elements to see what color is given off when they are put in the heat of the bunsen burner. Teacher Carly Hill noted that the color is a reflection of how much energy the electrons of that element are emitting.
