Chatham Charter DECA 2023 State CDC Results

Thirty-seven students from the Chatham Charter School chapter of DECA, an organization of marketing students, competed with other high school students from across the state in events during the 2023 North Carolina DECA Career Development Conference. Held February 23-25 in Greensboro, the conference featured general sessions with speakers and award recognitions in addition to the written and role play competitive events.

The following students were recognized for outstanding achievement in competitive events for top test scores, top role play, or both:

– Elphie Spillman, 1st place overall, top test score and top role play, Food Marketing Series

– Kaitlyn Evans and Maddie Teague, 2nd place overall, Integrated Marketing Campaign Event

– Maddie Teague, top test score, Integrated Marketing Campaign Event

– Garrison Clark, John Whistle Spillman, Tori Vaughn, state finalists, Project Management Sales Project

– Silas Christenbury, state finalist & top test score, Integrated Marketing Communications Event

– Meredith Reese, state finalist, Professional Selling

​​The state finalists now qualify to attend DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) that will be held April 21-25 in Orlando, Florida. In addition, Elphie Spillman, along with Natalie Hamel, Ariana Rivera-Romo and Colton Todd had already qualified for ICDC as part of the School-Based Enterprise Gold Certification and Recertification Teams.
