Beta Competes at State Convention

On Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27, students from Chatham Charter School participated in the North Carolina Senior Beta Club Convention in Greensboro with their advisors, Amber Crossman and Kara Root. Congratulations to members for earning the following state competition recognitions this weekend:

Four winners LtoR: M. Allen, M. Reese, K. Evans and A. Payne
  • Makenzi Allen – 2nd place 10th grade French
  • Meredith Reese – 5th place creative writing division 2
  • Kaitlyn Evans – 2nd place creative writing division 1
  • Ashleigh Payne – 1st place 9th grade Language Arts
  • Michelle Kirkman – 5th place pottery division 2 and first place on-site painting division 2
  • Colton Todd – 2nd place drawing division 2
  • Kaylee Root – 4th place painting division 1 and premier performer golden ticket
  • Sawyer Bowman – 3rd place digitally enhanced photography division 2
  • 4th place accessorized design team – Remas and Judy Shreef, Aaliyah Walden, Kynzie Jordan & Sam Wilson

These students are all eligible to compete this June at the National Convention in Savannah, GA. The North Carolina Beta Club is part of the National Beta Club, which is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth group in the United States serving more than 500,000 members across the United States and beyond. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
