Thirteen members of the Chatham Charter National Senior Beta chapter participated in the North Carolina Regional Leadership Summit held in Concord October 13-14. Students entered competitive challenges during the Summit. Two Chatham Charter teams qualified to compete at the national level in June. Abby Semrad, Emily Scheidt, and Addison Daniels were the Project Proposal team members. The Collaboration Connection team members were Camille Alston, Ashleigh Payne, Maddy Bozzo, Isaiah McSwain, and Jalen McSwain.

National Beta Regional Leadership Summits bring together students from multiple states for the two-day event. During that time, students work with interactive speakers who engage members through introspective exercises and team-building activities. Students from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Missouri participated in the Concord session. Clubs can also participate in team-based leadership challenges which test their communication, critical thinking, creativity, presentation, and collaboration skills. Their victories at this level provide the opportunity to compete at the national level. The National Convention will be held June 16-20, 2026 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

“We’re thrilled to have students qualify to compete nationally for the fourth year. The skills they learn and the confidence they build in the process are invaluable in competition and in other areas of their lives,” said chapter advisor Amber Crossman.
