Back-to-School Prep
The Chatham Charter administration and staff has prepared for the first student day of the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, August 12. (NOTE: Due to the incoming weather system, the opening of school was delayed from August 8th to August 12th. See more information here.) Kindergarteners should follow the staggered start schedule they received at Open House. Resources in this post will help families be well prepared.
Time Sensitive Items
Knights Athletics is moving to digital participation forms at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. DragonFly will need to be used for paperwork instead of turning in hard copies. On Thursday, July 25, the NCHSAA added a required form (NCHSAA Eligibility Consent to Participate and Release Form) that is now uploaded on DragonFly. Anyone who has already submitted other athletic forms will need to go back in and complete that form. High school sports tryouts could begin on July 31st. Middle school sports tryouts will begin on Tuesday, August 13. Forms must be submitted before a student can tryout.
Middle and high school students order uniforms for physical education classes. The deadline to order for the first semester is August 15th. See details, including the order form, here.
The state requires kindergarten, seventh, and twelfth graders to have certain immunizations completed by 30 days after the first student day of a school year. Contact School Nurse Dawn Murphy (dmurphy@chathamcharter.org) if needed.

School Lunch
Lunch orders are now open for the fall semester. Orders can be placed at mymealorder.com. New students will not be able to create a MyMealOrder account until a student id number is assigned to them. School lunches are pre-order only and must be ordered 10 days in advance. The last day to order lunch for the first day of school was Monday, July 29. Note: Lunches in MyMealOrder have been canceled for August 8 and 9 since school was not in session. Students who paid for lunch have received an account credit for those two days.
Regarding free or reduced lunch, each student’s lunch status from last school year will remain the same for the first 30 days of school or until a new lunch application is submitted. Free and reduced lunch applications will be available at Open House and will also be sent home during the first week of school. Contact Brittany Smith at bsmith@chathamcharter.org with any questions.
