Archery Team Competes at State Level

The Chatham Charter archery club competed in a state competition held at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds on Friday, February 25. The club began practicing on Saturday mornings from 8:30-10:00am back in October. Approximately 80 students in grades 4-12 have been involved in the program this school year.
The archery program is affiliated with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). In addition to the team of archers, the physical education teachers have an archery PE unit that is taught to students in grades 4-12. Chatham Charter has six instructors certified through NASP.
“This year the core team has been very devoted to coming to practices. We are very excited about the skill development and talent. We can not wait to see their results from the tournament after having watched them improve so much. We have also had great sponsors along with Chatham Charter that have allowed us to have nice equipment and team shirts. We are looking forward to the future of the Chatham Charter Archery Program.
