Teacher of the Year & Teacher Assistant of the Year

Two members of the Chatham Charter staff have been recognized by their colleagues as the Teacher of the Year and Teacher Assistant of the Year.

Larisa Spillman, the middle and high school marketing teacher, is the Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Spillman has a professional background in marketing and communications. She began teaching part-time at Chatham Charter in 2019 and shifted into a full-time role in 2024. Mrs. Spillman is also advisor of the highly successful DECA chapter that sponsors multiple seasonal campus events annually and is the only chapter in the state with three gold-certified School-Based Enterprises (SBE) for the last two years.

The Teacher Assistant of the Year is Jamie Jordan, who has 16 years of experience as a teacher assistant at Chatham Charter, most recently in first grade. Her love for teaching has motivated her to pursue a teaching degree and and move into a fifth grade teaching role in the 2026-2027 school year.
