On Friday, March 10, the annual elementary Spring Sing returned in its usual vocal music format. Due to the large audiences that attend each year, two performances are always scheduled.
“After three years of COVID restrictions, our K-5 students were excited to sing! This has been a year of exploring and relearning how to use our singing voices when performing. We’ve looked forward to sharing what we’ve accomplished,” said elementary music teacher Julie Teague.
As a prelude to the first performance, the sixth grade beginning band performed “Regal March” and a medley of folk songs entitled “Old McDonald’s Band” under the direction of Elizabeth Taylor, middle and high school instrumental music teacher.
The vocal selections were:
Kindergarten: “Hello There” and “Shake My Sillies Out”
1st Grade: “Sing a Little Song” and “Going On a Picnic”
2nd Grade: “A Distant Shore” and “Skinnamarink”
3rd Grade: “Happy Wanderer and “Rockin’ Robin”
4th Grade: “Wind On the Hill” and “The Orchestra Song”
5th Grade: “Come and Sing Together” and “Happy”
Grand Finale: “On Top of the World”
